Have you ever arrived in a foreign country and wished you had a friend there? Not just any friend — but someone who knows what you want to experience, what you are curious about, and someone who actually lives and works there. Someone who knows which restaurants are worth the wait and which ones are just tourist traps. Someone who can share the business and cultural angles of a place that no guidebook ever covers.
That is exactly the kind of friend I want to be for you.
Who Am I?
I was born and raised in Korea, and I still live and work here. I have not been to every corner of the country, but I travel between major cities and regional areas for work, meeting people along the way.
Through that, I’ve come to realize something: this country I know so well can look quite different from the outside — shaped by the image K-pop or K-content projects to the world. Just as truly understanding any country’s culture and people takes time and experience, Korea also reveals more layers the longer you look. The food gets more interesting. The culture gets richer. The people become more fascinating. And the stories — there are always more stories.
One thing that always stayed with me when watching tourists visit Korea was this: the first person who introduces you to something matters enormously. I have seen so many moments where someone was having a genuinely exciting experience or eating truly incredible food — but it was not being introduced properly, and something was lost. That feeling is a big part of why I started this blog.
I actually started writing about Korea a while back on a different platform — you might have seen some of these stories before. I’m slowly moving everything here, cleaning things up and adding new stories along the way.
I want to share the stories of the country I grew up in with travelers, explorers, entrepreneurs, and curious minds who want to experience Korea not as a tourist, but as someone who truly belongs here — even if just for a little while.

Food & Cafés
Realistically, most of my coverage will focus on Seoul and the Gyeonggi region surrounding it — but I’ll make it count with practical, honest tips. Every dish has a story, every neighborhood has its own specialty, and I’ll point you toward the spots genuinely worth your time — with the details you actually need (address, price, how to order). If a review is ever sponsored, I’ll always say so clearly.
History
Seoul doesn’t just look the way it does by accident. From the fortress walls that once defined the city, to how a war-torn capital rebuilt itself into what it is today, to how neighborhoods like Gangnam became what they are now — I dig into the “why” behind the city, one story at a time.
Building in Korea
I’m not a developer, but I’m teaching myself to build an app with AI — badly, at first, and one mistake at a time. Alongside that, I’ll share general thoughts on what it’s actually like running a business here — kept intentionally general, since this isn’t a blog about my company. It’s a blog about the process, the surprises, and the lessons.
